Best Umbrella Stroller for Tall People
If you are a tall person, then you need a stroller that can be adjusted for your length, and an umbrella stroller for tall people is one great solution . Being a tall parent requires you to have a stroller that will enable the handle bars to be at the correct height that you will not feel that you are constantly bending over which in turn will cause you to have serious back and neck ache.
Think about it, if you are taking your baby for a walk even a short 10 minute stroll, if you have to even slightly bend over, in a very short time your back and neck are going to ache. Not only do you need the handle bars to be at the correct height, but how often have you walked with a stroller and your legs keep banging into the back of the stroller?
Therefore as a tall parent, two of my main concerns are the length of the handles and that I don’t bash my legs against the stroller when walking.
What Are The Best Lightweight Strollers For Tall Parents?
When looking for a stroller I personally look for a one that is lightweight, compatible and easy to fold. If you are going to be using public transport then these requirements are paramount. Personally I prefer the umbrella stroller as it’s exactly that, easy to fold, takes up less space in the trunk of the car or on the public bus or train, and ultimately is lightweight.
The baby umbrella stroller for tall people also needs to have adjustable handles. With these factors in mind I think we can narrow down the selection of strollers by quite a number. Below are my 2 favorite choices for umbrella strollers with longer handles.
UPPAbaby G-Luxe Stroller
It has an adjustable handle height and your legs do not kick the back when walking. This Uppababy umbrella stroller can easily be steered with one hand and can stand alone when folded. This is a great advantage when waiting for public transport.
The G-Luxe has a simple to use reclining feature which enables the stroller to recline to a 120 degree from an upright position. It is lightweight, only 11lbs made with an Aluminum frame and has a carry on shoulder strap. The Uppababy G-Luxe stroller is not suitable for newborns but is suitable from 3 months old. It is easy to fold with no need to use your foot.
This stroller has 4 wheels, with a 5.5 diameter and shock absorbers. It has an easy to get to storage basket which is a decent size. Also comes with a removable cup holder and canopy and sun visor (extra long providing extra protection from the sun’s harmful rays).
The G-Luxe Stroller is very comfortable for baby, with soft padding in the back and the use of soft material all around. There is a new version coming out in February and will have more color variations (which is one of the minor negative features; the lack of color options) Some people have noted that it can be slightly difficult to open at times, while others feel that this is not an issue.
The Uppababy G-Luxe Stroller can be bought online via Amazon.com Amazon provides FREE shipping on orders above $25 and comes with a 30 day money back guarantee.
The Maclaren Quest Sport Stroller is another good option for an umbrella stroller for tall people. This stroller also answers the requirements of adjustable handles and being lightweight. However it is slightly heavier and more expensive than the G-Luxe. Let’s take a closer look at the Maclaren Quest and why it’s a good competitor to the G-Luxe.
One of the main advantages that the Maclaren Quest Sport has over the G-Luxe is that it is appropriate from birth which is a big money saver. Initially it’s more expensive, but you don’t need to purchase two strollers. One stroller purchase and you are good to go until your baby is 55lbs!
Obviously as it is an appropriate stroller for newborns it has a full reclining function and an extendable foot rest for the older toddler. It has 3 different adjustable handle heights for the tall parent. It is slightly heavier than the G-Luxe weighing 13.9 lbs, 2 pounds more. It also comes with a storage basket, but is a little small and difficult to get things in and out if baby in reclining. It does not come with a cup holder, but that can be purchased as an extra accessory.
This stroller has 4 wheels with front swivel unit and linked brakes It comes with an easy carry strap and water resistant hood. The sun visor is a little small, but people seem to not mind that as it has the fully reclining feature which is more important to many. The material used is denim cloth which is good for boys and girls and allows for breathing in the hot weather and keeps baby warm in the cold.
The seat can be easily washed in the washing machine. The Maclaren Quest Sport Stroller is easy to maneuver and narrow enough to get through tight spaces, and can be navigated with one hand.
This stroller comes with Amazon’s guarantee policy and free shipping and free returns policy. You can get your Maclaren Quest Sport Stroller today by clicking this link Now and it can be at your door within 24 hours!
I think that both these options are a great buy and that each one has their pros and cons. You have to decide what is more important to you. If a fully reclining position is number 1 on your list then go for the Mclaren stroller, however if weight is important to you and those extra 2 pounds is exactly that extra 2 pounds then go with the G-Luxe. Both are excellent buys and I’m sure you will be happy with either one.
Unfortunately both these strollers have been removed from the manufacturer. Real shame as they where great. We will update this post soon once we have done our research on the best unbrella strollers for tall people. In the meantime you may want to check out these options below.
